The Oak Perch was founded by Rachel and her husband, Brian. Born out of their passion for animals, conservation, and farming.
Growing up, Rachel used to ask her mom why they couldn't have a cow in their suburban yard. Zoning rules didn't seem like a valid answer to her. She dreamed of a day she could sit on her porch and look out at animals grazing.
That dream became a reality in 2016 when Rachel and her husband purchased land in rural Missouri.
Rachel is passionate about all thing wool and the preservation of heritage breeds. Brian is a soil scientist, passionate about conservation of resources. Together they raise Hog Island, and Navajo-Churro Sheep.
